Lions and tigers and bears, OH MY!

Another activity we do often is visit the Hogle Zoo which is also nearby. It is definitely nice living downtown where everything is so close! It's fun to take Tan there because we visited that zoo a lot growing up in Utah so I have memories of things like drinking out of the lion fountain and measuring my body length against the length of a gorilla. And we're blessed that Eli's job is M-Th so we get 3 weekend days with him! That will change very soon when he starts med school and Tan and I will spend many nights and weekends dad-less for the next 8ish years (yikes!). So we are taking full advantage of time with daddy.

Tan's favorite thing to do there is play on the rocks, in the mud, and with sticks - he just peeks at the animals and then moves on to more exciting stuff!

My favorite thing is the baby elephant - he's just so dang cute! I loved the baby giraffe as well, but he died due to "Failure to Thrive" 2 weeks ago.

Our sweet little man sharing his yogurt puffs with the penguins!
Even though there was glass in between them, he was determined to share his water with the monkeys (his favorite animal at the zoo).

He seems like such a great sharer... it's really cute! Your childhood musings of going to the Hogle Zoo brought back many good memories. You've got to love that lion drinking fountain!
