Life...

I wouldn't recommend finding a teaching job 3 weeks before the school year starts, moving into a new apartment in a new city, finding all new furniture, and being almost 6 months pregnant. Thank goodness Eli is finally here!!!! Life is crazy and will be for quite a while! And for some reason the only thing I want to eat are waffles. Weird.

On a lighter note...

If you're ever around Provo Canyon for the Labor Day weekend, take a trip up to Midway for Swiss Days - cute little town festival with a parade, good food, booths selling the most darling home decor, and fun music. I love Midway. We bought a cute stitched and framed quote with a magnet board from Live Well Stitchery for the baby room. We also stopped at our own town's Onion Days carnival/fair. Fun as well but not as cute as the Midway festival.

Baby Morey is quite active these days! I love when he kicks in response to my touch in a certain area. He's developing a personality! And he can already kick and punch pretty hard. I am always amazed that a little person is growing inside my body!!!!!

Story #1: This story takes place during Silent Reading time. The kids were reading all around the room and I was working at my desk.

4th grade boy (walks up to Mrs. Morey): Mrs. Morey - watch this! (puts two fingers to his chin and POPS A ZIT)

Mrs. Morey: asdlkfhklsjeblrkjbskdljfb - GROSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!

And we've only been in school for one week.

Story #2: This story takes place during math while I'm walking around teaching and the kids are at their desks.

Mrs. Morey: Now, why is place value important?

Girl: (gets up out of her desk, comes over to me and puts her hand on my stomach): WOW! Mrs. Morey, your stomach is getting huge! (this causes all the girls in the class to start talking about how much I've grown in just one week, thus losing their focus on the math lesson.)

Mrs. Morey: Thank you, now would you please go sit back down. (of course I look at my stomach and notice it even feels bigger!)

Apparently I'm growing exponentially now - Maybe my weight will reach the one thousands place in the place value chart.

First day of school!

Today was the first day of school so I wanted to put some pictures of my classroom. I put this together with the help of my mom, sister, and Eli in a couple days. Lets just say I have been living here for the past week and a half since I got to Utah! Sorry about the bad quality of the pictures - my old camera isn't behaving very well. Back to planning!

Happiness is two kinds of ice cream...

First of all, I have my big 20 week ultrasound on Thursday! YAY! No more calling Baby Morey "it." Ick, I hate doing that. Any guesses on the gender from anybody?

Second, I got a job teaching 4th grade in Utah for this fall. Hooray!!! It's at the same school I had my first student teaching experience at. As most of you know, Eli hasn't heard from the Vermont medical school yet, so we had to start moving on with our lives. He will attend a grad program at BYU in Public Health for a couple years and then hopefully go to medical school after that. I will teach and have our baby! The school is in Payson so we'll probably live in Springville or Spanish Fork area. There is still a SLIGHT chance that the med school could contact Eli within the next 3 weeks and accept him. Man, wouldn't that be chaotic?!

Third, we are off to the Caribbean for a week on St. John in the Virgin Islands this Friday and we CAN'T WAIT!!!! This was supposed to be our big trip before med school, but now it's more like a BabyMoon I guess. Eli is going to go camera crazy with all that turquoise water!

Google Reader - the Best thing for BLOGS ever!

I just have to say how much I LOVE Google Reader!!! If you don't know what it is, you should definitely use it. Instead of going to all different blogs to check for updates, Google Reader tells you which blogs have been updated everytime you sign in. Saves so much time!!!! Here's what you do:

Go to google.com and click on "more." Find "Reader" and click on that.
Sign in (or sign up, I can't remember if you have to sign up for it) with your gmail account. (You can get a gmail account through google if you don't have one already)
Add blogs by clicking "Add subscription" on the left side of the screen. Copy and paste the blog website address and click "Add"
Add as many blog websites as you want! Everytime you sign into gmail, you are automatically signed into google reader as well. Or you can just go right from google.com to get to Google Reader.

I HIGHLY recommend using Google Reader to check all your blogs - it's the best way to do it!!!
